Two more Legion Baseball teams see their seasons come to an end.
Sherrill Post jumped out to a 6-0 lead in Game 1 on Wednesday over Utica Post, before holding on to get the 6-2 win. Connor VanDreason tossed 4.2 innings of scoreless baseball to pick up the victory.
Love Post and Adrean entered the sixth inning of their game tied at one, when Love struck for one run in the sixth and one more in the seventh. In the bottom of the seventh, Adrean staged an improbable comeback, all with two outs.
First, Jordan Kane singled home Nick Briggs to make it 3-2 and then advanced to second when the ball got by the center fielder.
That brought up Connor Lynch who hit a weak grounder to third, but Love Post threw it away allowing Kane to score to tie the game at three.
Lynch advanced to second on the poor throw, and after back-to-back intentional walks loaded the bases, Zack Brush came through with a base hit to right field to score Matt Kelly to give Adrean Post the dramatic 4-3 win.
They advance to play Sherrill Post on Thursday at 5:30pm.
In the final game of the day, Smith Post battled back from an 8-6 fifth inning deficit to beat Oriskany Post 10-8 to clinch a spot in the District 5 Championship on Friday night.
Oriskany Post will now await the winner of Adrean-Sherrill at 8pm on Thursday.
