Sherrill Post survives against Adrean Post, and then lays the hammer down on Oriskany Post.
Sherrill entered Thursday on the brink of elimination, and the day didn't start off too well after they fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first against Adrean.
Andrew Roden helped get one of those runs back in the bottom of the first with an RBI triple, but the game stayed 2-1 until the fifth inning.
There, Adrean Post starter Dean Langman's wild-pitch allowed Alex Kipp to score to tie the game at two.
The game then entered the bottom of the ninth inning with Jordan LaSalle on in relief on Langman. He walked the leadoff batter Blake VanDreason, and then found himself in a huge bases-loaded and nobody out jam.
That set the stage for Nate Palmer and he came through with a sacrifice fly to right to score VanDreason to give Sherrill the dramatic 3-2 victory.
The win sent Sherrill on to a matchup against Oriskany Post, and Sherrill picked up right where they left off getting the 11-0 mercy rule win to earn a spot in the District 5 Championship.
They'll face Smith Post on Friday evening from Murnane Field.
