Marlies rally past Comets in OT

A 2-0 first period lead wasn't enough for the Comets.

The Marlies mounted a furious comeback to tie the game at 2 before Adam Brooks won it for Toronto in overtime.

Jalen Chatfield got the scoring started five minutes in when he blasted a shot past Garrett Sparks for his second goal in as many games.  Tanner MacMaster extended the lead to 2-0 three minutes later off a rebound.  He now has seven points in nine games for Utica.

Pierre Engvall broke through for the Marlies early in the second, and Vincent LoVerde tied things up at two with just over eight minutes left in regulation.

The game would go to overtime where Brooks scored out of a scramble in front.  Richard Bachman took the loss in net with a 39-save effort.

The two teams will meet again on Friday night with faceoff from the Adirondack Bank Center set for 7pm.
