The Spartans came up short in a thrilling back-and-forth affair with Holland Patent 60-58. The Golden Knights were leading 58-56 late in the fourth quarter when Kaia Henderson hit a running floater while being fouled to tie the game, but would miss the go-ahead free throw.
On the ensuing Holland Patent possession, Makenna Reinold scored on an uncontested layup to put the Golden Knights back in front.
Abby Buchholz would miss a potential game-winning 3-pointer allowing Holland Patent to hold on for the win.
