ON THE COLLEGE SIDE THE 17-5 HERKIMER COLLEGE BASEBALL TEAM HOSTED A DOUBLE HEADER OF THEIR OWN TODAY. WINNERS OF EIGHT STRAIGHT GAMES THE GENERALS LOOKED TO KEEP THEIR STREAK ALIVE TONIGHT AGAINST SUNY ADIRONDACK.
TO HERKIMER COLLEGE, THE GENERALS TOOK TWO FROM ADIRONDACK YESTERDAY, COULD THEY DO IT AGAIN TODAY.
TO GAME ONE, WE PICK THIS ONE UP IN A SCORELESS FIFTH INNING.
THE BASES WERE LOADED FOR BRANDON MARTINEZ WITH THE LINE DRIVE OUT TO LEFT. THAT WOULD SCORE CHRISTOPHER BURNS AND A.J. FABRIZIO TO PUT THE GENERALS UP 2.
SOME MONKEY BUSINESS WOULD FOLLOW AND THE CATHERS THROWS IT AWAY, TRYING TO STOP MARTINEZ FROM REACHING SECOND, THAT WOULD PLATE ANOTHER.
HERKIMER WOULD ROLL FROM THERE, WINNING GAME ONE 6-0. THEY WON GAME TWO 8-1 TO IMPROVE TO 19-5 ON THE SEASON.
