Whitesboro girls lacrosse does something it has never done before.
The Warriors win their first sectional playoff game ever with a 14-8 victory over arch rival New Hartford. Lexi Scaccia leads the way for Whitesboro with five goals and three assists in the win.
"It's huge for our team," senior Sydney Scaccia said. "I mean it was a big team effort and for us to come out with a win especially against our rivals, it's just huge. It makes it a little bit sweeter that it was New Hartford too."
Next up is the No. 1 seed Jamesville-Dewitt on Thursday.
In local baseball, Avery Cook tosses a complete-game shutout with eight strikeouts in Whitesboro's 7-0 win over Cortland. In two playoff games, the Warriors have outscored their opponents 23-0. Whitesboro squares off against Fulton on Wednesday after they beat New Hartford 4-3 in nine innings.
Chris Godlewski strikes out 10 and allows six hits as Proctor wins big 14-0 over Central Square, RFA scores one in the bottom of the ninth and two in the bottom of the 10th to beat Syracuse in walk-off fashion 5-4 and Little Falls gets the 14-1 win over Onondaga to set up a showdown with Cooperstown on Thursday. Also, Frankfort-Schuyler rallies late for a 7-3 win over Westmoreland.
In boys lacrosse, New Hartford's season and win streak come to a close after falling to Homer 18-7.
