The Comets' point streak comes to an end with a 6-1 loss to the Crunch on Wednesday night.
Patrick Wiercioch put the Comets in front midway through the first period, but that was all the offense they could muster.
Adam Earne scored the first of his three goals with 2:03 left in the opening frame. In the second period, Carter Verhaeghe struck twice in just 68 seconds to put the Crunch in front 3-1.
Matthew Spencer extended the lead to 4-1 eight minutes into the third, and then Earne put the game on ice with two more goals to give Syracuse their seventh straight win.
After the game, it was learned both Thatcher Demko and Michael Chaput were recalled to the Canucks. Neither player suited up against the Crunch.
The Comets will be back in action on Saturday night for the first of two straight games against the Providence Bruins.
