COMETS-AMERKS DOING BATTLE ON THE NIGHT THAT KICKS OFF THE SALVATION ARMY'S RED KETTLE CAMPAIGN.
JUST OVER FOUR MINUTES INTO THE FIRST PERIOD, AMERKS ON THE ATTACK, IT'S BUFFALO'S OWN PATRICK KALETA DUMPING IT TO MATT ELLIS AND ELLIS WITH THE WICKED WRISTER TO PUT ROCHESTER UP 1-0.
EIGHT MIMUTES LATER AND IT'S ROCHESTER ON THE POWER PLAY, MATT HACKETT WITH THE PASS OUT FRONT AND LUKE ADAM IS THERE TO BANG IT IN.  THE AMERKS TAKE A 2-0 LEAD.
STILL IN THE FIRST, COMETS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF A SLOPPY PASS, IT'S BENN FERRIERO INTERCEPTING AND LIGHTING THE LAMP.  ONE OF TWO GOALS FOR FERRIERO IN THE GAME.
BUT IT WASN'T ENOUGH, THE AMERKS OVERPOWER THE COMETS, ROCHESTER WINS TONIGHT 4-2.
