"Today marks the 100 days mark till our home opener which is October 22nd,we just announced today, not sure who we're playing it's going to be a night game we'll play that Wednesday, we'll play Friday and Saturday,” says Director of Communications Mark Caswell Jr.
Caswell says summers are slow but the comets staff is busy working on season two.
"The most exciting time to work is during the season because you have the games going on but you know, it's a nice time too here because we get to build for next year and this is where the planning and preparation for next season starts,” said Caswell.
The Comets head coach says with a year of experience under their skates, this year's team will be stronger.
"Our younger players this year, our young defensemen, our young goalies will know what to expect and I’m hoping we'll get off on a faster start next year,” said Coach Travis Green in an interview back in April.
As anticipation for hockey season builds so is leadership and strength amongst the team.
"When you start to build something the players start to push within and push within themselves within the locker room and they start to lead in their own ways and I think we've got some guys in the room that will be able to do that,” said Coach Green.
The full season including opponents and start times will be announced when the American Hockey League releases the complete schedule in mid-August.
