Boucher, Demko lift Comets, force Game 5

We'll see you Sunday.

The Comets forced a deciding Game 5 with a statement 5-2 victory in Game 4 of their first-round postseason series on Friday night at the Adirondack Bank Center.

Reid Boucher scored at the 1:03 mark of the opening frame to get the Comets on the board.  Tanner MacMaster made it 2-0 with his first career playoff goal in the second, and Boucher extended the lead to 3-0 with his second on the night later in the frame.

Dmytro Timashov cut the deficit to 3-1 early in the third, but Michael Carcone answered moments later as Utica regained their 3-goal advantage.

Tyler Motte would put the nail in the coffin with his second goal in as many nights.

Thatcher Demko made 40 saves for the Comets, while Garret Sparks stopped 15 of 20 shots in a losing effort.

Game 5 is set for Sunday at 4pm from the Ricoh Coliseum.
