Voter Registration Deadline is Tomorrow

UTICA, NY (WUTR)--- The voter registration deadline is fast approaching.

"We have a race for family court judge this year, which just came up in July," Democratic Commissioner for the Oneida County Board of Elections, Jordan Karp explained. "We've got city councils in both Utica and Rome up.... A variety of town races. Most town supervisors are up this year, and of course, most people are ginned up about the constitutional convention proposition."

If you are planning to vote in this years upcoming election, you must fill out a voter registration form. The form is one page long and consists of 16 questions.

"If you're not a registered voter in Oneida County, you have until Friday, October 13th to register to vote in the county," Karp said. "You can get a voter registration form online and print it and mail it to us, as long as it's post marked by Friday it will be accepted for this year. If you'd like to come down, we are open until 4:30pm on Friday if you don't have access to a printer."

If you are already a registered voter in the county, you have by next Wednesday to update a change in your address. If needed, The Oneida County Board of Elections will mail area residents absentee ballots.

Election day is November 7th.
