Two Hospitalized After Crash on Rt. 840

Emergency crews responding to a two-vehicle crash involving a car and tractor along Route 840 in New Hartford today. Police say it happened around 8 a.m. when a car rear-ended a farm tractor pulling a seed-spreader, causing it to overturn. 71-year-old Thomas Brown of Clayville was behind the wheel of the tractor. He taken to the hospital with a skull fracture and internal injuries - and later air-lifted to Buffalo for further treatment. The driver of the car, 23-year-old Abigail Thompkins of Utica was released shortly after being hospitalized. The west-bound lane was shut down for 4 hours - and New Hartford Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to come forward.
