Texting or talking on your smart phone while walking is at least as dangerous as doing it while driving. If you are texting while walking, not only is your mind somewhere else, but you are blind to what is happening around you. More than 1,500 people were treated in emergency rooms for cell phone related injuries in 2010 alone.A recent study at New York's Stony Brook University hospital shows that if you use your cell phone while walking, you are 60 percent more likely to veer off course. And when you veer off course, bad things can happen.
