SU looks to set new undefeated record when Duke comes to the Dome

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Syracuse University men’s basketball team is hoping to maintain its undefeated season just a little longer when traditional power Duke comes to the Carrier Dome on Saturday.

The Orange tied a program record on Wednesday when they beat Wake Forest 67-57 in Winston-Salem, NC.

The Orange enters the game with a 20-0 record and a consensus No. 2 ranking.

The Blue Devils are ranked ranked No. 16 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll and No. 17 in the Associated Press poll.

Duke is on a five-game win streak and coming off of an 80-65 win over Pittsburgh on Monday at the Petersen Events Center. The loss was Pittsburgh’s first home loss this season.

Jabari Parker is leading the Blue Devils on offense, scoring 18.8 points per game, while CJ Fair is pacing the Orange with 16.7 points per game.

Duke is 2-2 against top 25 teams this season, with wins over Michigan and Pittsburgh. Duke is 5-4 on the road in the 2013-14 campaign.

The meeting will feature two of the college game’s winningest coaches.

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski and Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim have combined for 1,912 victories and five NCAA Championships.
