Today marks the third day in search for a missing Sauquoit man - 84-year-old Donald Combs. Combs left a note promising to return home from camping in the Town of Forestport by Friday or Saturday-- when he didn't return Sunday, search efforts began. The search is focusing on the Black River Wild Forest Trail. Authorities and dozens of volunteers have been working around the clock in hopes of finding the elderly man. Kayaks are now being used to expand the search into Gull Lake. Captain Francis Coots said, "As today goes on, we will continue our ground search, we are already planning for tomorrow, so its not like we are even talking about shut this down. This is something that is going to be a long term effort and I do believe we will find Combs and hopefully we will find him alive."
Authorities urge to come forward with any information on Comb's disappearance by contacting state police in Oneida at 366-6000.
