The boilermaker is behind us but there's still a reason to run. Runners will be hitting the road in Oriskany this weekend for a good cause.
The Florence Mae 5k/9k road races are this Saturday at 9 a.m. The course will take runners through the village of Oriskany. All proceeds will go to the wounded warrior project and the ride for missing children. The creator of the run said it's a great way to promote staying healthy.
“The Florence Mae was actually named after my mother. She was a bus driver through the Oriskany school district and she loved sports and after heart disease, she passed on with that, so I just named this in her name to promote health and fitness through education and exercise."
You can register to run at Capri pizzeria in Oriskany and it costs fifteen dollars.
