Details Released On Fatal Police Crash

State Police Hold Press Conference

MARCY, NY - It was a near head on collision at the intersection of Oriskany Blvd and Westmoreland St. in Whitesboro Wednesday night that resulted death of Whitesboro Police Officer Kevin Crossley. The New York State Police held a press conference Thursday afternoon and released details of the accident.


According to State Police Major Philip Rougeux, Troop D Commander, Officer Crossley was driving his Whitesboro patrol car in an easterly direction on Oriskany Blvd. When he came to the intersection of Oriskany Blvd and Westmoreland road. A pickup truck heading in the opposite direction was attempting to make a left turn off Oriskany Blvd onto Westmoreland Rd when the vehicles collided. Officer Crossley was on routine patrol at the time of the accident and not responding to a call.


Officer Kevin Crossley was 34 years old, a 7 year veteran of the Whitesboro Police force. He served fulltime on the Village of Whitesboro force and had just begun part-time with the Town of Whitestown Police Department.


The driver of the pickup truck was identified as Nicole Moshier-Harris, 26 years old of Whitesboro. Moshier-Harris was treated and released at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Utica for a leg injury. Alcohol and drugs have been ruled out as factors in the crash. No citations have been issued. The investigation into the accident continues.
