"It's really important for us to continue to highlight what services are provided by the county, by our community partners and to really make sure that people recognize and understand that there are areas of neglect and abuse that happen all around us,” says Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente.
"It’s critical for people to speak up because again, children are out in the public eye, with their parents, without their parents and it's critical for all of us to observe whether or not an interaction between a parent and child is appropriate or inappropriate,” said Lucille Saldato, Commissioner of Social Services for Oneida County.
The county is encouraging anyone who suspects child abuse in any form to call the child abuse hotline. The number to call is 1-800-3423720.
