New Hartford students gathered today to make a difference. They’re all part of the schools honor society.
Tuesday, they met at the New Hartford senior center and played bingo with elementary school kids.
Not only did they play and make some art, but they're also helping to continue education during summer vacation.
Many said they are pleased with the turnout of students and volunteers who take their time to mentor younger kids.
"Well being part of the honor society really gets you involved in the community and really forces you to look at the community in a way as how can I help? How can I make a difference," said student coordinator Andrew Sandock.
This event takes place every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Certificates will be handed out this week from U.S. Representative Richard Hanna and assembly-woman Claudia Tenney's offices to show appreciation for their work.
