National Walking Day

Today people wearing their sneakers to work. and sneaking out during lunch break to walk. That as part of a National Walking Day event held by the American Heart Association. About 75 people meeting in New Hartford to walk a mile-long-loop. It served as an important reminder that heart disease can be prevented by physical activity.
"We think it's great for people to get out and walk work on their exercise, make them heart healthy and heart diseases is the number one killer so the only way to combat that is eating healthy and exercise," said Stephen Zogby, a sponsor of the event.
The America Heart Association says for every hour spent walking, your life expectancy could increase by two hours.
