A brand new sports complex is coming to the area and construction is well underway. The $6 million dollar multi-purpose sports facility is being built off of Judd Road in Whitesboro.

Crews broke ground back in March and the shell of the building is already up. Once complete the facility, owned by Accelerate Sports, will be home to courts, fields and equipment for people of all ages to use individually or through sports leagues.

"Inside of it we're going to have 45,000 square feet of open turf, there's going to be a 300 foot by 150 foot turf field, we're going to use that as wide open but also splitting it apart into thirds, we're also going to have three multi-purpose basketball courts that you can do basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, any sort of intramural type sport in there also a second floor walking and running track,” says Bryan Ingalls, one of the project managers.

There will also be batting cages and pitching lanes plus a local physical therapist will be opening a practice inside for athletes. The 83,000 square foot facility is set to open November 1, 2014.
