The district will have a year to address those questions and survey what kind of participation to expect in the program. The school day will be lengthened by 90 minutes for teachers and students who volunteer to take part.
District officials say the extra instructional time will help students raise test scores but the logistical planning continues.
"We are looking at what is the best option for the program to run, that is in the best interest of kids, it may be at the beginning of the day or whatever but we need to take the whole year to look at the situation and do the planning and so forth," said Lori Eccleston, Director of Curriculum
A meeting is set to take place as soon as school officials hear back from the State Education Department.
