Local Artists Debuts New Album

UTICA, NY (WUTR)--A local man is promoting his latest album.

Michael Mott's passion for music began at an early age.

"I have been writing since I was a little kid. I was writing and listening to the top 40 radio and Billy Joel and playing the piano and singing," Michael Mott said.

This inspired New Hartford native to study musical theater at Ithaca College. After graduation, he moved to New York City to become a professional musician. He has since released 2 albums that he wrote and performed on.

"This just came out. It's called 'Abandoned Heart,'and it is a collection of my original pop music, pop and soul music sung by myself and Broadway, television, and film stars,"explained Mott.

Those celebrities include Jenna Ushkowitz from the television show Glee, and Jay Armstrong Johnson from Quantico. Mott said he is grateful for all of the encouragement he has received from his hometown community.
