K students at Kernan Elementary School in Utica had a chance to celebrate Thanksgiving a little early this year.
As a high needs school, teachers wanted to make sure all of their students could have a turkey day meal. While learning manners and having a family atmosphere to eat in.
The students also made Thanksgiving themed placemats.
"Some of our students you are a diverse mix. So we want to make sure that everyone has a Thanksgiving and they are going to see how to sit a table together and eat as a family and a group-not all have the opportunity to do that."
This was the first time some of the students have had a traditional American Thanksgiving.
