Creating jobs is always a main concern in Oneida County and on Wednesday county officials gave a progress report on the Vision 2020 initiative which covers just that.

In 2013 County Executive Anthony Picente worked with M.V.C.C. and other partners to create a plan for the future of the local economy. The report outlines nearly 1,000 internships completed this year, doubling since last year, as well as the creation of a Quad-C internship series.

Picente says these are just pieces to the puzzle that will help to grow our economy.

“Again I stress that it's a report but it's an action plan because it outlines specific areas of each of those three sectors that we talked about: work force education, access and opportunity, housing, that for which we've put together a plan for which some things have already been done,” said Picente.

The County Executive says he plans to gather community feedback sometime in the fall.
