The community garden in Utica is in full bloom and on Tuesday local kids spent the afternoon picking veggies. It's all part of an effort to teach young people the importance of healthy eating and cooking.

Through grant money, a nutrition educator and chef is now helping children eat healthy home grown fruits and vegetables.

Garden founders say they're happy to help serve fresh food and while also educating the community. The gardens are open to the entire community just stop by and sign up.
